Dixie is a beautiful seasoned trail horse. She is also a former barrel horse but I have only used her on the trail. She ties, leads, loads, stands well for the farrier and is not a problem to vaccinate. She is 14.3 hands tall and is a wonderful trail mare. She is an easy keeper and does not require much to keep her body in good condition. She wore shoes for most of her early life when she was barrel racing, but we ride mostly at home so have kept her barefoot. We have taken Dixie on many trail rides. She is not prone to spook and is content to plod along. She knows voice commands of walk and trot. Her feet are strong and in good shape.

Dixie would be good with an advanced beginner and up. She does not have any problems crossing water. She prefers not to be first in but will if you insist. She will go directly at a cow if you point her there and has no hesitation whatsoever. I would not be surprised to see her excel at team penning though I have never practiced it with her.
